@Suzanne My short-term memory may be awful, but my long-term memory tends to allow me to remember things like this story. I'd happily forgo a short term memory to remember stories like this one. :) Looking forward to reading more comments from you!

@Gerrit Hey Gerrit. It's good to hear from you. Hope life is treating you well. I'll have you blogging in no time, I promise. :)

@Mike Thanks Mike. I've been around forums for years now, but even I'm struggling to keep up with the pace of activity in Third Tribe. I'm not so sure it's people purposely trying to get their link out there (although there certainly has been a little of that), but I just think people are genuinely excited to have a place to engage with like-minded individuals. I think people have had a lot of built-up questions and discussion points that aren't worthy of blog posts, but are perfect for forums, and Third Tribe has given them a place to free their minds of these things.

Having said that, I really don't mind people writing in order to get their link out there. If what they are writing is valuable and constructive, I think they deserve to have their link in there. It's when the one-line, two-word posts start appearing that I'd get worried, but I'm sure Sonia and co will stamp that out the moment it starts.

Good post and a great story.

I'm interested to hear you've joined Third Tribe and the Problogger forums. I'm there too. I'm hoping things will settle down, but for me, they're just a little manic at the moment. With people working very hard to get noticed and get eyes on their links.

Does anyone else feel this?

Jamie

Great story and one that you will never forget for sure. Fear is a part of trying something new and when you are new and not getting any feedback is discouraging. It comes down to sticking to it and practice, practice and more practice.

I too found this blog on Third Tribe. Look forward to communicating further with you and reading some more.

Jamie,

Yes, the Twitter exchange was great. Looking forward to its continuation as well as the rest of your series.

Through interaction with folks like yourself I am coming to the realization that the reltionships we forge, connecting is the most important ingredient. Continue being a great connector!
